ACAWT Installs New Dust
Collector System |
|

 |
In January 2006,
Rees-Memphis of Memphis, Tennessee was awarded the contract to install
a blowpipe wood dust collection system. The system is unique in
that it is customized for training purposes: it allows
individuals during seminars to visually see dust movement in various
sections of the pipe. The Nordfab "Quick-Clip" system was
used to facilitate easy reconfiguration, which is necessary since the
ACAWT changes equipment frequently to stay on the cutting edge of
secondary wood manufacturing technology. Special Ecogate
electronic blast gates were installed with the system to allow
automatic opening and closing of
the blast gates and system turn-on/turn-off. This system reduces electric costs and
initial capitalization of what would have required originally a very
large dust collector. By providing this information to
manufacturers, the ACAWT is helping fulfill its goal of helping
manufacturers reduce cost. |
