ACAWT Presents Information on Woodworking Industry at Economic Development Conference

Bruce Jackson, standing in for ACAWT director James Glasgow, visited the Alabama Electric Cooperative in Andalusia and Alabama Southern Community College in Thomasville for an economic development support group seminar on February 23-24, 2006.

Presenters at the seminar were the ACAWT's Bruce Jackson; Nisa Miranda, director of the University of Alabama Center for Economic Development; and Brian Davis, director of the Alabama International Trade Center.

While attending, Bruce presented a PowerPoint presentation on workforce availability, export assistance, and training capabilities.  The Center has been invited by some of the attendees to make this presentation at their local economic development meetings in April.

Also in Thomasville, Bruce attended a networking meeting with local community leaders in healthcare, banking, and forestry.

More information is available on the Alabama Electric Cooperative's web site.
