Mr. James B. Glasgow
Mr. Glasgow is the Director of the
Alabama Center for Advanced Woodworking Technology.
Jimmy is a graduate of Mississippi State University Forestry’s
program and has spent over 25 years managing in both the private
and public arenas. In addition his experience as a landowner
provides him with unique understanding of the effect government
rules and regulations have on the private forest owner.
Jimmy has served on a variety of local, regional, and government
boards including the President’s Administrative Planning Council,
Northwest-Shoals Community College, Alabama’s state “Forestry
Team,” whose mission is to not only maintain, but also expand the
forest products industrial economic base throughout Alabama.
Even though Jimmy has a professional background in the primary
forest industry he has taken on the added responsibility of
learning the secondary wood manufacturing segment by involving
himself with courses on:
Principles of Lean Manufacturing
Managing Your Business
Developing a Competitive Advantage
Communication Workshop
Principles and Operations of Computers

Mr. Bruce E.
Jackson
Mr. Jackson is a production and
finishing specialist. He comes to the ACAWT with over 37
combined years as a university educator and industrial consultant
with a bachelor's degree in wood technology and a master's degree
in woodworking teacher education. In his almost four decades of
woodworking he has developed a series of global contacts in
secondary wood manufacturing and education.
Bruce has worked with federal,
state, and regional agencies on pre-industrial training and
economic development. He has worked with industry on
production layout and plant design. His specialization in
finishing application technology has produced a book, video,
proprietary materials, and a slide series. Bruce has served
on international committees and trade associations involved with
wood finishing and education. At this time, he serves on the
Franklin County Industrial Board and acts as an advisory board
member to the Franklin County Times. Bruce has consulted on
finish application and performance with companies as near as Arley,
Alabama and as far away as New Delhi, India. These have
included La-Z-Boy Furniture Company and Merillat Cabinet Company,
division of MASCO, both Fortune 500 companies.
At ACAWT, Bruce assists the
director in overseeing industrial assistance, business plan
writing, and seminar development.

Mrs. Kay Dotson
Mrs. Dotson is a part-time
administrative assistant for the Center.
Kay is a graduate of Bristol
College (TN) and has been employed in various administrative
positions, including several college bookstore's as the business
manager where she was responsible for profit and loss. She
also worked as a volunteer in the Job Corps training program
through the Federal Forest Service and presently works in the
private sector. |

Mrs. Denise Hester
Denise Hester is a full-time
secretary for the Center.
Denise is a graduate of Phil Campbell High School. She
attended Northwest Shoals Community College and
has been employed in various business office positions at a
health care facility and also as a secretary in the insurance
field. |

Mr. Andrew Reed
Mr. Reed is a part-time technology
specialist, with an emphasis on computer and electronic
technology.
Andrew is currently attending
Northwest Shoals Community College. He maintains acawt.org and provides technical support to ACAWT programs and
projects. He specifically is in charge of editing videos and
creating DVDs.

Mr. Kyle Nix
Mr. Nix is a part-time assistant to
Bruce Jackson.
Kyle is currently attending Northwest
Shoals Community College.
