On April 10, 2006 Bruce
Jackson, standing in for director James B. Glasgow spoke to a group of
business and community leaders at the South Alabama Electric
Cooperative in Troy. The breakfast presentation covered the role that
the ACAWT and the secondary forest products industry plays in the
state's economy. During and after the presentation those
representatives of business began to develop a networking group.
The meeting was sponsored by Marsha Gaylard (President)
and Daniel Martin (VP Economic Development) of the Pike County
Economic Development Corp. Also presenting information to the group
was David Hutchison of the Alabama Development Office (ADO) who
covered how ADO works with new and existing industry.
An extensive question and answer period accompanied
both presentations.
