On Saturday March 11, 2006, Bruce Jackson of
the Alabama Center for Advanced Woodworking Technology attended a
finishing seminar conducted by Floyd Carter of
The Woodwork Shop, Inc. This was a specially
prepared seminar for members of the Tri-State Woodworkers Guild.
Originally, the Guild was called The Memphis Woodworkers Club and
Jackson had been a catalyst in re-starting the club after moving to
Memphis in 1997. Bruce found an old plaque that had been designed and
routed by Dirk Steuber, formerly of Memphis Machinery and Supply
Company, for the Club. Bruce presented it to Bill McMillen for the
club's archives.
Bruce has invited the club members to visit ACAWT to tour the
facilities and/or be involved in a seminar.
